Help speed up progress toward the discovery of new treatments for people living with Parkinson’s so we can fight it head-on. As the fastest-growing neurodegenerative condition in the world, the number of people developing Parkinson's is expected to keep rising, but research breakthroughs at the University of Dundee could stem this tide. Recently, Dr Tom Gilbertson and his team at Dundee performed the first non-invasive ultrasound treatment for Parkinson's tremor in Scotland, allowing patients to regain movement control within minutes. In the School of Life Sciences, Professor Dario Alessi and his team are spearheading a new project with the Michael J Fox Foundation to identify new treatments that target the LRRK2 gene (a key influencing factor of Parkinson's disease). 

Your donation would also provide hope to those diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a rapidly progressing terminal illness that impairs muscle control, with an average life expectancy of just 18 months post-diagnosis. Researchers at Dundee are investigating early brain changes in MND, aiming to develop treatments that could slow the disease's progression. With your help, we can transform the lives of people living with these conditions.
