Application declaration - discretionary funds
Students must read the declaration below and agree to the following before answering 'Yes' to question 25 on their Financial Assistance application
Updated on 11 February 2021
- I confirm that I have completed the Application for Financial Assistance myself, or if it has been completed by someone on my behalf, I will provide an accompanying letter explaining why and the contact details of my advocate
- I confirm that I am in receipt of living cost funding from my funding body
- I confirm that the bank details provided are accurate and this is the account into which any award should be paid;
- I accept that any inaccurate information given will invalidate my application
- I accept that any falsified, fraudulent, or dishonest information may lead to disciplinary procedures by the University, and my student funding body
- I acknowledge that my application will be rejected if I do not provide copies of all relevant documentation within 7 working days of handing in my application
- I acknowledge that during periods of high demand, my application may not be processed within 15-20 working days;
- I agree to repay any overpayment made to me, even if it is not my error
- I accept that no further payments will be made to me should I withdraw from my course, and that I will inform the Student Funding Unit of this immediately
- I agree to repay any short-term loan by the agreed date. If I am unable to meet that date, I will make contact with the Student Funding Unit to re-negotiate. (Failure to re-negotiate or repay will result in the sum being transferred to your student record as a debt to the University. This may prevent you from matriculating or graduating in the future if not paid)
- I confirm that I will notify the Student Funding Unit of any change in my circumstances immediately
- I understand that if dissatisfied with any aspect of the application process, I will follow the protocol as available on our webpages under Appealing a decision not to provide students with financial aid
- I confirm that I have read the University's Data Protection Policy.
