Discover Clearing 2025/26 (the “Scholarship”)

This Key Facts Document sets out the main details of the Scholarship, as at date of publication. This document should be reviewed alongside the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, as those terms and conditions will provide you with additional information that apply to you in respect of the Scholarship. If there is any inconsistency between this Key Facts Document and the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, the provisions of the Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions will prevail.

Application Process

Application form

  • There is no separate application form for the Discover Clearing Scholarship(s).
  • The University of Dundee Admissions Team will use information from your course application to determine if you meet the eligibility criteria. This verification process will happen at the Initial Offer stage.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible, you must:

  1. Apply during 2025 Clearing.
  2. Hold an offer to study a full-time, on campus, eligible Undergraduate programme of 120 credits per year in any school at the University of Dundee (excluding School of Medicine or Dentistry).
  3. Be classified as an International Fee-paying student by the University of Dundee.
  4. Have a course tuition fee of £21,600 per year or above.

NB: Any course which does not have a fee of this value, or above, will not be considered for this award.

Scholarship Information

  1. The value of this scholarship is £3,000 and is awarded as a tuition fee waiver. No payment is made directly to you.
  2. The Scholarship is paid in each year of applicable study:
    • Undergraduate applicants can receive a scholarship for up to 5 years of progressing study. (£15,000 over 5 years).

Key Information

  1. This Scholarship is applicable in the entry year to the University of Dundee only and cannot be backdated to previous years.
  2. The University will not offer a scholarship to students who have already matriculated at the University in their chosen course.
  3. You are unable to combine the Discover Clearing scholarship with any other University of Dundee scholarship.
  4. If you have an externally funded scholarship that covers part of the full tuition fee, this can be awarded alongside one or more University of Dundee scholarships (provided that the total of the awards combined does not exceed the total UoD tuition fee).
  5. If you have a fully funded external scholarship, you will not be eligible to receive the Discover Clearing Scholarship as all tuition fees are covered. The University will not provide the Discover Clearing Scholarship as an additional award.
  6. Should you wish to defer your entry to the University of Dundee, the following rules apply:
    1. Deferral to a new academic year: Scholarship cannot be deferred.
  7. If you change course before, during or after matriculation, the University reserves the right to re-assess eligibility for scholarships and may withdraw the Scholarship Offer should your eligibility have changed.
  8. If your Fee status or any other personal information changes before, during or after matriculation, the University reserves the right to re-assess eligibility for scholarships and may withdraw the Scholarship Offer should your eligibility have changed.
  9. If you have paid your tuition fees in full prior to being awarded the Discover Clearing Scholarship, the value of the Scholarship will be refunded to you after you have enrolled at the University of Dundee. Alternatively, this can be transferred to your University accommodation account balance (if applicable).
  10. The Scholarship is only paid in the years in which full tuition fees are paid. This applies where you may study abroad during your Undergraduate studies.
  11. The University of Dundee fees department will confirm the status of the scholarship where required.
  12. All communication with you will be via the online applicant portal (eVision). Types of communication may be:
    1. Confirming the scholarship.
    2. Informing you that you have not met the criteria to be awarded the scholarship.
    3. Requesting further information.
  13. We are unable to disclose details of the Scholarship to anyone other you unless you provide us with your consent to do so.
  14. Should you withdraw from your course, the University Fees Department may be in contact regarding payment of fees.
  15. All scholarship decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
