This Key Facts Document sets out the main details of the Bursary, as at date of publication. This document should be reviewed alongside the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, as those terms and conditions will provide you with additional information that apply to you in respect of the Bursary. If there is any inconsistency between this Key Facts Document and the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, the provisions of the Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions will prevail.

Application process
- There is no separate application form for this Bursary. Your eligibility will be based on the information you provide to the University during the application process.
- Our Admissions Team will use the information provided in your application to study, to assess eligibility for this Bursary. Confirmation of the award will be in writing and may be as part of the Offer Letter or other University of Dundee communications.
- You must ensure the information in your application and any supporting documentation is correct, complete, accurate and up to date as any award is based on this information. The University of Dundee reserves the right to withdraw this award if you have submitted information which is false, fraudulent, incorrect, or misleading.
- If you think you should have been awarded this Bursary and have not been notified from either our Admissions Team or Student Funding Team, you must contact our Student Funding Team at [email protected] by the end of Semester 1, for your eligibility to be reviewed..
Who is eligible
You must be:
- Resident in the UK and classified by the University of Dundee as an RUK (Rest of UK) Fee paying undergraduate student.
- Hold an offer to study one of the undergraduate Nursing BSc courses listed below in the School of Nursing & Health Sciences in September 2026
- Adult Nursing BSc (including Kirkcaldy)
- Adult Nursing BSc (Hons) (including Kirkcaldy)
- Child Nursing BSc
- Child Nursing BSc (Hons)
- Mental Health BSc
- Mental Health BSC (Hons)
Award information
- The value of this Bursary is £2,250 for the duration of your programme of study.
- The Bursary is made in two separate payments over the course of the academic year, usually the end of November 2026 and the end of February 2027.
- Payment in subsequent years is dependent on satisfactory progression, which is set and monitored by the University. You do not need to re-apply annually for this Bursary.
- Payment of the Bursary is made after enrolment at the University of Dundee.
- All payment forms sent to you by our Student Funding Team must be completed within the given timeline.
- Failure to complete the forms by the deadline may mean you are no longer eligible to receive the Bursary.
Key information
- This Bursary is applicable to the entry year to the University of Dundee only and cannot be backdated to previous years. The University will not offer any awards to students that have already matriculated.
- The Discover Nursing Bursary can be held in conjunction with Rest of UK (RUK) Bursary only.
- All communication with you will be via the online applicant portal (eVision). Types of communication may be:
- Confirming the Bursary.
- Informing you that you have not met the criteria to be awarded the Bursary.
- Requesting further information.
- The Bursary will be suspended for periods of leave / absence. The Bursary will be reinstated on your return to full time study from the point on which your period of study was suspended. For the avoidance of any doubt, the maximum amount that can be paid under this bursary is £9,000..
- The University reserves the right to withdraw the Bursary immediately and without notice where the student is determined by the University to have misled the University about any aspect of eligibility to receive the Bursary.
- If you withdraw from your programme of study, you must notify our Student Funding Team that you are no longer enrolled at the University of Dundee.
- Should you wish to defer your entry to the University of Dundee, the following rules apply:
- Deferral to a new academic year: Bursary cannot be deferred.
- Under any such circumstances, the University shall be entitled to seek repayment of any portion of the Bursary which may already have been paid to you and you will no longer be entitled to any further payments.
- The University of Dundee is unable to disclose details of the scholarship to anyone other than you unless you provide your consent to do so.
- All scholarship and bursary decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
