GREAT Kenya Scholarship 2025/6 (the “Scholarship”)
This Key Facts Document sets out the main details of the Scholarship, as at date of publication. This document should be reviewed alongside the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, as those terms and conditions will provide you with additional information that applies to you in respect of the Scholarship. If there is any inconsistency between this Key Facts Document and the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, the provisions of the Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions will prevail.

October 2024, applicable to 2025/6 academic year (September 2025 entry).
Application Process
- To apply, you must have an offer to study at the University of Dundee.
- Eligible applicants must apply for the GREAT Kenya Scholarship using 'Apply for funding' section in your eVision portal.
- As part of your application, you will be required to answer the questions below with a maximum of 200 words each per topic:
- What are your reasons for wanting to study at the University of Dundee, on your chosen programme of study?
- Describe a significant achievement in your student life or in your working career to date and explain the impact it had on other people or the organisation.
- How would you help spread the word about the University of Dundee as a study destination?
- Describe your career objectives beyond the course you have applied to, indicating the type of role you would like to occupy in five years' time and how the course you are interested in studying can help you in achieving these objectives
Who is eligible?
To apply you must:
To be eligible to apply for this Scholarship, you must:
- Have an offer to study a Postgraduate Taught programme.
- Be classified as an International Fee-paying student by the University of Dundee.
- Be a citizen of a GREAT Kenya eligible country or territory.
Note that applicants should be passport holders of Kenya.
Scholarship Information
Value: £10,000
- 1 award available
- Available for all programmes in theory, however the programme should have a focus on Business, Computing, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
- You must apply before the deadline. Late applications are not accepted.
- Scholarships are awarded on an Unconditional basis. However, this is not linked to your application to study status.
- Scholarships cannot be awarded on a pro-rata basis.
Should you wish to defer your entry to the University of Dundee, the following rule applies:
- Deferral within the same academic year: Scholarship can be deferred.
- Deferral to a new academic year: Scholarship cannot be deferred.
Key Information
- This Scholarship is applicable in the entry year to the University of Dundee only (September 2025 intake) and cannot be backdated to previous years.
- You are unable to combine the GREAT Kenya Scholarship with any other University of Dundee scholarship except for the Alumni Scholarship.
- If you have an externally funded scholarship that covers part of the full tuition fee, this can be awarded alongside one or more University of Dundee scholarships. (Provided that the total of combined does not exceed the total University of Dundee tuition fee).
- If you have a fully funded external scholarship, the GREAT Kenya scholarship will be removed as all tuition fees will be covered by the external scholarship.
- All applications are reviewed by a panel of University staff and selection is based on quality of personal statement. Only applications which pass the eligibility criteria will be reviewed, all other applications will be rejected, and you will be notified.
- All decisions are communicated with an applicant, whether successful or unsuccessful.
- We will notify you of any scholarship updates via the online applicant portal. We may also communicate with you using any email address you provide to us. Types of communication may be:
- Confirming the scholarship
- Informing you that you have not met the criteria to be awarded the Scholarship
- Requesting further information.
- We are unable to disclose details of the scholarship to anyone other than you unless you provide your consent for us to do so.
- Should you withdraw from your programme of study, the University may be in contact regarding payment of fees and scholarship balance.
- All scholarship decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
