Discover Dundee Bursary 2025/6 (the “Bursary”) 

This Key Facts Document sets out the main details of the Bursary, as at date of publication. This document should be reviewed alongside the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, as those terms and conditions will provide you with additional information that apply to you in respect of the Bursary. If there is any inconsistency between this Key Facts Document and the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, the provisions of the Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions will prevail.

Application process

• There is no separate application form for this Bursary. Your eligibility will be based on the information you provide to the University during the application process.
• Our Admissions Team will use the information provided in the programme application to assess eligibility for this Bursary. Confirmation of the award will be in writing and may be as part of the Offer Letter.
• You must ensure the information in your application and any supporting documentation is correct, complete, accurate and up to date as any award is based on this information. The University of Dundee reserves the right to withdraw this award if you have submitted information which is false, fraudulent, incorrect, or misleading
• If you think that you should have been awarded this Bursary and have not been notified from either our Admissions Team or Student Funding Team, you  must contact our Student Funding Team at [email protected]  by the end of Semester 1, so we can review your eligibility.

Who is eligible

You must:

1. Be resident in the UK and classified by the University of Dundee as an RUK (Rest of UK) Fee paying undergraduate student.
2. Studying a full-time undergraduate programme. This can be in any of our Schools excluding the School of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing & Health Sciences and Education & Social Work. 

Award information

1. The value of this Bursary is £2,000 in the students’ first year of study only. There will be no payments in subsequent years.
2. The Bursary is made in 2 separate payments over the course of the academic year, usually the end of November 2025 and the end of February 2026.
3. Payment of the Bursary is made post matriculation after enrolling at the University of Dundee.
4. All payment forms sent to you by our Student Funding Team must be completed within the given timeline. Failure to complete the forms by the deadline may mean you are no longer eligible to receive the Bursary. 

Key information

1. This Bursary is applicable in the entry year to the University of Dundee only (September 2025) and cannot be backdated to previous years.
2. The programme must be a 12-month,120 credits full time programme. If the programme is less than 12 months, then you are not eligible for the Bursary.
3. If you have applied for a Part Time or Distance Learning programme, then you are not eligible for this Bursary.
4. The Discover Dundee Bursary can be held in conjunction with other awards, if the programme of study permits, for example, the RUK Bursary and the Academic Excellence Bursary.
5. Should you wish to defer entry to the University of Dundee, the following rules apply:
   • Deferral to a new academic year: Scholarship cannot be deferred.
6. Changes to your programme of study:
   • If you change your chosen programme of study before/during matriculation or after latest start date (30.09.2025), the University of Dundee reserves the right to reassess eligibility for scholarships and bursaries and may withdraw the Bursary Offer should your eligibility have changed.
   • If your Fee status or any other personal information changes before, during or after matriculation, the University of Dundee reserves the right to reassess eligibility for scholarships and bursaries and may withdraw the Bursary Offer should your eligibility have changed.
7. All communication with you will be via email, to your @dundee.ac.uk email address. We may also use any other email addresses you have provided to us to communicate with you. Types of communication may be:
   • Confirming the Bursary.
   • Informing you that you have not met the criteria to be awarded the Bursary.
   • Requesting further information.
8. The University of Dundee is unable to disclose details of the Bursary to anyone other than you unless you provide your consent for us to do so.
9. If you are entering a programme of study on a January start date, rather than September, you are not eligible to receive this Bursary.
10. Payment of this Bursary will be suspended during a period of approved leave of absence (temporary withdrawal of studies) where this period covers a whole academic year and may be reinstated on return to full-time study.
11. The Bursary will be suspended for periods of leave / absence. The Bursary will be reinstated on your return to full-time study from the point on which your period of study was suspended. For the avoidance of any doubt, the maximum amount that can be paid under this bursary is £2,000.
12. The University reserves the right to withdraw the Bursary immediately and without notice where the student is determined to have misled the University about any aspect of eligibility to receive the Bursary.
13. If you withdraw from your programme, you must notify our Student Funding Team that you are no longer enrolled at the University of Dundee.
14. Under any such circumstances, the University shall be entitled to seek repayment of any portion of the bursary which may already have been paid to you and you will no longer be entitled to any further payments.
