Find out what graduate schemes and graduate jobs are, how they work, and how to successfully apply. Hear some practical advice on timelines, applications, and making your profile stand out.

Graduate schemes are structured training programmes offered by large employers across various sectors, but understanding how they work and how to get on one can be confusing. This workshop breaks it all down in a clear, supportive way, helping you feel confident about navigating the process.

Delivered as a presentation with space for questions, the session will cover:

  • What graduate schemes are and how they differ from graduate jobs
  • Which sectors offer them and what they typically involve
  • Application timelines and key deadlines

Session structure:

  • Presentation (30 mins) – Clear overview with examples and practical advice
  • Optional Q&A (15 mins) – Ask questions in the chat or raise your virtual hand and pop your mic on

Target Audience

  • UoD students and recent graduates of all disciplines
  • This session is ideal for students in their penultimate or final year, or anyone curious about graduate schemes and how to prepare early.
  • No pressure to participate — just come along, listen, and take away what’s useful for you.
