Where to find our libraries

With four convenient locations, you'll always have access to the resources and support you need. 

• Main Library: Located on the City Campus, this is the hub for all your study needs. It includes a dedicated area for the Law collections.
• Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (DJCAD) Library: Located on the City Campus, in the Matthew Building.
• Robertson Trust Medical Library: Located in Ninewells Hospital, this library is perfect for those in the medical field. Plus, it's open 24/7!
• Kirkcaldy Campus Library: Located in Fife, this library offers a welcoming space for all students.

Finding resources

Our library makes it easy to find what you need. Here’s how:

• Library search: explore our vast collection of print and online books, journals, and open-access resources from around the world.
• e-Journals: access a comprehensive A-Z list of journals available electronically, both on and off-campus.
• A-Z of databases: looking for a specific resource like Web of Science? Find it here. Search resources by name
• Reading and resource lists: find what you need for your course by searching for module names, code numbers, or lecturers.
• Subject guides: discover the best resources for your subject, learn how to use EndNote, plan a literature search, and more. 

Here's how we support you

We offer a wide range of services to help you make the most of our resources:

• Online guides & appointments: Get the support you need through our guides or book a session with an Academic Librarian.
• Borrowing Services: Find out how and what you can borrow, and for how long. Either by finding the item you need on the shelf or through our click and collect service.
• Friendly help: Our staff at each library InfoZone (helpdesk) are here to assist with any questions or issues—big or small. Just ask!
• University of Dundee App: Access library resources conveniently via the app: manage loans, search materials, view your reading list and book study rooms. You can also view your timetable, email and My Dundee from the app.

Our spaces

We have designed our libraries to cater to different study preferences:

• Versatile Study spaces: choose from desks with or without PCs, group study areas, and bookable rooms. To ensure everyone has the environment they need, we ask that certain noise levels are respected in different areas.
• Wifi and computers: our libraries are fully wifi enabled, and we have network PCs available for use and docking monitors to attach your personal devices. The Main Library, DJCAD and Kirkcaldy libraries also offer laptops for use within the library.
• Printing: all library sites offer printing facilities, with the Main Library providing 12 black and white/colour A3/A4 printers/scanners. Print from your laptop | Print from a campus computer
• Food and drink: Need a break? The Main Library features a Cafe, plus most of our sites have vending machines, hot water taps and kitchenettes. The Main Library also has microwaves available.
