IGTRF is a unique testing and training facility that can replicate ‘life-like’ clinical scenarios using a Thiel perfused human cadaveric model and state-of-the-art imaging facilities (digital subtraction angiography, IVUS, ultrasound, and photon-counting detection). In collaboration with the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHID), IGTRF has pioneered the development of a Thiel cadaveric model that enables extracorporeal perfusion of both arterial and venous system.
The perfusion human anatomy allows:
- A wide range of endovascular interventions in the brain, heart, lung, extremities, and abdomen, including both the arterial and venous system
- A wide range of surgical interventions, e.g. stenting, heart valve replacement, Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR), treatment of arterial stenosis, and the use of lasers and robotics
- Ventilation of the lung to simulate movement and simulated flow scenarios in the heart
- Robust support for regulatory submissions.
- Individual and team training in cutting-edge interventional techniques.
- Multimodal imaging (DSA angiography, ultrasound, IVUS, endoscopy)
We are an internationally recognised facility offering tailored services to global clients. IGTRF works closely with our key partner of TayMed Connect, a collaborative network uniting the NHS, industry, and academia to drive the discovery and development of innovative solutions for patient care.
