This module introduces the design and research skills needed for conducting research in anatomy and forensic anthropology.

What you will learn

In this module, you will:

  • learn how to search, cite, and critically review relevant literature
  • develop an understanding of how to construct research aims, objectives, and hypotheses
  • gain insight into both qualitative and quantitative research methods in anatomy and forensic anthropology
  • understand the principles of research integrity and ethics
  • learn how to apply for ethical approval for a research project at the University of Dundee

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • select appropriate research methods to test a hypothesis
  • outline the ethical approval process for research at the University of Dundee
  • construct suitable research aims, objectives, and hypotheses
  • critically evaluate research methods in anatomy and forensic anthropology
  • design and plan a research project
