This module continues the development of your understanding of the basic mathematics most needed by engineers. It covers material required for accreditation of degree programmes in engineering, and will allow you to understand subjects you will be learning about in higher levels.
What you will learn
In this module, you will:
- learn about sequences and series
- learn about finite differences, differential equations, and ordinary differential equations
- develop your understanding of probability and statistics
- learn about various aspects of functions, such as hyperbolic functions, asymptotes, implicit differentiation, Taylor’s theorem, and L’Hopital’s rule
- extend your understanding of integration
- learn about vectors, including the definition of vectors, the scalar and cross-product of vectors
- learn about complex numbers
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- apply your knowledge of the above subjects to engineering problems
