This module covers elective and trauma conditions relating to the shoulder, elbow hand and wrist and that of paediatric pathologies. Additionally, students will be given lectures on biomechanics and motion analysis which will help to prepare for research project work and writing up project thesis.

What you will learn

In this module you will:

  • learn the principles of assessing, initially handling and critically evaluating various options of definitive management of various elective and trauma conditions of the whole spectrum of upper limb degenerative and trauma complaints and paediatric pathologies.
  • build an understanding of basic principles of motion and mechanics and how these concepts are integral to principles of orthopaedic practice and fracture fixation surgery.

By the end of this module, you will:
