Research
Alija’s most recent study includes building an Islamic moral/political economy. By building on what the founding fathers did before him, Alija wants to make Islamic political economy the guiding principle for the moral or social economy that Islamic economics aims for, which is a term that falls short of what is wanted. Alija studies how different types of Islamic moral economy are expressed in the Muslim world as part of current and new moralities. This is in addition to theorising about Islamic moral political economy, Alija also does real-world study on different areas of Islamic business ethics and Islamic economics. Alija is also very interested in the moral factors that make people want to become businesses, especially in the setting of the growing halal industry. At this point, there is a special chance to look into how ethical ideals like fiqhi ethics, tayyib ethics, and akhlaqi ethics affect business and new ideas. With its focus on morality and customer trust, the halal industry is an interesting way to look at how businesses can not only make money but also help the economy grow in a way that is both sustainable and socially responsible.
