Biography
Dr Majed Wadi is a Senior Lecturer in Teaching and Research at the Centre for Medical Education, School of Medicine, University of Dundee. With an MBChB background, Dr Wadi is a dedicated medical educationist with over a decade of experience in student assessment and wellbeing.
He began his career in medical education at the University of Science and Technology in Sana'a, Yemen, where he held several leadership roles, including Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Director of the Medical Education Center, and coordinate several international collaborative projects with Maastricht University and Zuyd University (Netherlands), and National University (Malaysia).
Upon joining the College of Medicine at Qassim University, Saudi Arabia, he made significant contributions to the development of the Medical Education Department and Assessment Unit. Moreover, he actively participated as scientific secretary of the Progress Test Committee, which develops and organizes the progress test, a comprehensive written exam that meets Saudi Arabia’s national cognitive competency standards for medical graduates.
Dr Wadi is actively involved in teaching and has organized and delivered various courses, including Medical Education, Professionalism, Medical Ethics, and Biostatistics. Moreover, he led more numerous training sessions on assessment planning; including blueprint design at both the basic and advanced levels and constructing high quality assessment methods such as MCQs and OSCE.

Consultancy
As a consultant, Dr Wadi specializes in designing, implementing, and evaluating assessment systems for medical education, including national assessment tests, standard setting, and building research capacities.
Research
Dr Wadi's research focuses on student assessment, psychometrics, progress testing, student wellbeing, and curriculum development. He has published numerous articles and book chapters on these topics. He also serves on the editorial board of the BMC Medical Education, Frontier in Medicine (Health Professions Education) and Education in Medicine Journals.
