Alumni and Family Scholarship (September 2025)

Additional requirements
The University of Dundee provides up to £3,000 for Alumni and Family applicants.
If you meet the following criteria, then you will be eligible to receive the scholarship:
- Have applied to study a full (180 credit) postgraduate taught course
- Have applied to study a full (120 credit) undergraduate course - excluding courses with Government set fee
- Your course starts in September 2025.
- Have an immediate family member who has studied at the University of Dundee, having completed a full undergraduate or postgraduate taught degree.
An immediate family member (“IFM”) includes the following:
- Mother
- Father
- Spouse
- Step parent (by marriage)
-Brother or Sister
- Half brother and sister (by marriage)

Where eligible, this scholarship can be combined with one of the following scholarships:
- Global Excellence or
- Global Citizenship or
- Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships (one region only)
Only one Alumni award can be awarded, either the direct graduate award or family award.

Further information
If you have an offer for :
- an Undergraduate course which is less than 120 credits
- an Undergraduate course with Government set fee
- a Postgraduate taught course which is less than 180 credits
- a Distance Learning course
- a Part - time course
- a PhD course
then unfortunately you are not eligible.
If you have previously completed a research placement/internship at the University of Dundee (minimum 3 months), or have completed a full year of study through the International College Dundee, you may be eligible for the Alumni and Family scholarship. Please see attached documents for full eligibility criteria.
The value of this scholarship varies depending on your fee status:
- For Home and RUK applicants the value of the scholarship is £1,500 GBP, for 1 year only
- For International applicants, the value of the scholarship is £3,000 GBP, for 1 year only.

Depending on the applicant's relationship, we will require you to submit the relevant documentation.
A copy of the official degree certificate for the graduating family member
- Mother - Birth Certificate
- Father - Birth Certificate
- Spouse - Marriage Certificate
- Step-parent (by marriage) - Supporting legal documentation
- Brother or Sister - Birth Certificate
- Half brother and sister (by marriage) - Birth Certificate & Supporting Legal Documentation.
With permission from your family member, please attach any relevant documentation relating to their study at Dundee.
**Please note that failure to provide the required documentation will mean we are unable to make an assessment for this award.
