Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to treat chronic sinusitis and other sinus-related conditions.

Unlike traditional sinus surgery, which involves external incisions, FESS is performed through the nostrils using an endoscope. This allows surgeons to see inside the sinuses and perform delicate manoeuvres with precision. FESS creates minimal damage to surrounding tissues. This means less postoperative pain, faster recovery times, and fewer complications than traditional surgery.

This 3 day, intensive hands on practical course, using thiel embalmed cadaveric specimens’ provides trainees with the skills to move from core sinus surgery procedures to advanced skull based work. It is a competency based approach to surgery following a structured curriculum with a high delegate to faculty ratio.

The aim of the course is to give a comprehensive systematic approach to a range of sinus procedures. We will also cover how to deal with complications and emergency rhinological surgery.
