Third Year SLS PhD students showcase latest research at poster session
The annual third year PhD poster session took place last week with excellent entries from students across the School of Life Sciences

The poster prize winners (from left): Vikram Tejwani, Alastair Bonsall, Ritika Siddiqui and Rosie Gallagher
Each poster was judged by Principal Investigators and senior postdoctoral researchers. The winners were:
- 1st Prize - Vikram Tejwani (Rouse lab, MRC-PPU) - ‘Conditional degradation of the WRN helicase for selective killing of MSI cells’
- 2nd Prize - Ritika Siddiqui (Singh lab, MMB) - ‘Caenorhabditis elegans senses essential amino-acid rich diet via olfaction'
- 3rd Prize (joint) - Rosie Gallagher (Philip Murray, SSE & Dale lab, MCDB) - ‘Computational approaches to analysing somites in iPS-derived somitoids’ and Alastair Bonsall (Stanley-Wall lab, MMB) - ‘The S8-PTS: Investigating a novel polymorphic toxin system in Bacillus subtilis’
The winners each received prizes from event sponsors Greiner and Activate Scientific.
