Have you ever wanted to live a life where you can do what you love but also travel and see the world? Well, I have some exciting news for you. This is something you can do as a student at the University of Dundee, whether it’s for a semester or a year. The University itself will take care of the module arrangements, and you can go and live in Singapore, Canada, Italy, or any other country on offer without getting behind on your course.
A personal journey: my experience in Singapore
I studied at the National University of Singapore, and it led to some incredible memories. One day I would be in a lecture learning about how hormones influence our bodies, and the next I would be in the ocean, snorkelling with whale sharks. It made me realise many things about myself and helped me grow as a person.
How does it work?
The courses you take abroad link to your course in Dundee so you should not have any issues when you come back. Sometimes you can even choose specialised modules offered during your stay that still link to your course but are not offered back in Dundee. You will get support from the Go Abroad Team and academic coordinators along the way so you won’t be on your own, and usually there will be a number of students going to the same university so you should see some familiar faces.
Why you should take the leap
Studying abroad isn’t about visiting a new country; it’s about experiencing a new lifestyle and discovering more about the vibrant culture of your chosen country. It is also about growing both academically and personally, being able to develop your confidence and your ability to adapt to a new environment. Something employers are keen on seeing! Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and apply. It might just be one of the best things you do during your time at university.
The Go Abroad team can help you study abroad for a semester or year if you are an undergraduate student.
