Dental public health is a global issue. Gaining an MDPH from an internationally recognised UK university is a great way to be prepared for wherever in the world your career will take you.

This course will equip you with a wide variety of transferrable skills. These skills can be adapted to suit a range of jobs, disciplines and careers. Having these skills will help you to have a bigger impact on improving oral health and quality of life for patients and communities.

You will develop skills that will enhance your clinical practice and help you to:

  • undertake much needed oral health surveillance
  • have raised awareness of how to identify and tackle oral health inequalities
  • move towards more impactful approaches for prevention and health promotion

As part of the course, you will be able to develop areas of special interest to you, including undertaking a Dental Public Health Internship. The Internship will give you hands-on experience in implementing dental public health methodologies. It will also enable you to enhance your skills in research, service provision, and teamwork. These are skills that are needed and can be used in a wide variety of dental and health-related roles.

Our MDPH graduates have gone on to roles including:

  • Research assistants in UK universities
  • Public Health Tutor
