There is an increasing demand globally for infertility treatment. This means there is a growing need for high quality laboratory and clinical staff in this field.
Studying this MSc gives you valuable practical experience of working in labs and clinics, as well as real-world insights and research skills. All of this can help with your future career in reproductive medicine.
Unlike most similar courses, teaching takes place on-site within a large NHS hospital. This gives you experience of attending clinics in a real Assisted Conception Unit (ACU) and Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) theatre sessions.
You’ll be taught by a mix of experienced experts working in the field. This gives you the well-rounded knowledge and skills needed to enter a career in ART. This could be in either a clinical or research setting.
You’ll get the opportunity to learn how to set up your own in vitro fertilisation (IVF) unit. This includes learning about legal requirements and how to recruit patients and donors.
The course also offers industry connections. You will benefit from professional networking and industry exposure, helping to get your career in the industry off to the best possible start.
Our graduates have gone on to training positions in ART, for example in embryology and andrology. Some have also gone on to study for a PhD or other research positions.
Clinically qualified graduates have gained valuable skills to enable them to specialise in reproductive medicine and assume responsibility within ART clinics.
We offer internship opportunities for our strongest graduates who are keen to pursue a career in clinical embryology.
