International mineral resources management is the responsible management of mineral resources worldwide. It balances economic, environmental, and social needs.

You will learn about the context in which the international mineral industry operates. This includes understanding the need for critical minerals in energy transition and infrastructure development. You will also explore the challenges of obtaining social license to operate and ensure environmental sustainability.

You will develop an understanding of primary strategic management and financial tools. You will learn how to apply these tools to analyse key management and finance issues. These issues may relate to mineral resources exploitation, trade, processing, and consumption.

Our International Mineral Resources Management course will develop your transferable employability skills. These include analysing data, presenting information clearly, and using communication technology. You will also gain independence and responsibility through research and projects.

You will study a variety of topics including:

  • energy transition management
  • energy and sustainability
  • industry financial accounting
  • mineral resources policy and economics
  • financial and project analysis

You can also choose elective modules in the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law or the School of Business.

A range of academic materials supports all modules. You will be introduced to the relevant academic support services. The Digital Literacies team will provide input on research skills in preparation for research papers and dissertations.

You will become part of the CEPMLP community, which has been a global voice in the energy and minerals sectors since 1977. With over 6,000 postgraduate alumni from more than 80 countries, we will help you prepare for a high-profile career in the public or private sector.
