This course is a collaboration between the University of Lagos and the University of Dundee.

This fully integrated LLM course will enable you to develop your legal knowledge and skills. This development will feature the perspectives of both the Global South and Global North.

The Joint Programme builds on the strong ties between the University of Lagos and the University of Dundee. Both institutions have a commitment to establishing partnerships which are equitable and accessible in their funding, structure and content.

On completing the course you will gain an LLM from both universities.

The Joint Programme will offer you a very high degree of flexibility.

At Unilag modules will be delivered in a hybrid format. There is the potential for these to be delivered on evenings and weekends.

At Dundee, you will be able to choose from any available LLM modules. These will include those delivered from our Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law & Policy (CEPMLP).

Whatever your module choice and the focus you choose for your LLM, you will have the opportunity to engage critically with each topic of study. This will allow you to pay attention to the impact of the law and legal institutions on society from a truly global perspective.

The LLM will begin in Nigeria. You will take four modules at the University of Lagos. Following this, you will come to Scotland for the second semester.

In Dundee you will take three taught modules. This will be in addition to a research skills class. This class is intended to prepare you for your dissertation.

The dissertation will be on an approved topic of your choice. This choice should include an element of Global South and Global North legal comparison. Throughout your dissertation you will be supported by staff from both Dundee Law School and Unilag's Law Faculty.

In joining this course, you will need to be able to travel between Nigeria and the UK. See our entry requirements for full details

“From the vibrant shores of Lagos to the scholarly heights of Dundee, this Joint Programme is more than the pursuit of a degree-it is a journey toward a global legal mindset grounded in both local relevance and international excellence. Start with the intellectual rigour of UNILAG, advance through the distinguished academic landscape of Dundee, and emerge with two LLM degrees that reflect the best of both worlds.”
