As a graduate of this master’s course, you’ll get advanced knowledge and skills in a range of areas that employers are looking for. 

Employers are keen on individuals who can work independently and deliver a research-focused approach to research, business and/or practice. Through the research project on this course, you will get these valuable skills. You’ll learn how to be a good researcher and critical thinker, whilst also getting strong transferable skills.

We place a strong emphasis on developing your practical skills. Teaching takes place within a large NHS hospital. This means you’ll get experience in state-of-the-art technology and facilities. 

Through our Clinical Observership Scheme you get valuable experience of a range of clinics and services in the NHS. This includes orthopaedics, physiotherapy, and clinical mobility services.

  • Professional careers
  • Community sport, health and exercise roles
  • Healthcare and health promotion (including NHS and private providers)
  • Research within the public sector, industry, or charities
  • Scientific advisor/manager
  • Research and development technician/assistant
  • Clinical trial officer
  • Clinical data analyst.

This MSc degree also qualifies you for graduate jobs that require a level 11 qualification. This could be within or outside of your specialist area.

Recent graduates from our orthopaedics courses have gone on to:

  • Careers in healthcare (in the UK and internationally)
  • PhD or other further study
  • Secure jobs in the private sector within healthcare and technology
  • Launch their own spin-out and consultancy companies.
