When you apply to us there may be parts of your application that meet the conditions of our Contextual admissions policy. If this is the case your offer may include an invitation to our Online Access Summer School.

As your offer is unique to you ensure that you are aware of all the conditions that it contains.

This course is designed as an alternative route to entry to your degree course. It is also intended to give you the best possible preparation for being a student. You will be supported throughout the four and a half weeks you will study with us by our dedicated team. You will have access to various resources that will allow you to enhance your learning. This will also ease your transition to the first year of your undergraduate degree.

If invited, you need to accept your offer for this course by Sunday 8 June 2025.

The course will run from Wednesday 25 June until Friday 25 July 2025.

Preparing for the course

You will study online for the duration of the course and will not have scheduled classes. This means you have the freedom to study whenever best suits you. However, the expectation will be for you to fully engage with your modules regardless of other commitments you may have. Past experience shows that students who fail to fully engage with their modules find it significantly more difficult to meet the conditions of their offer.

Depending on the course you have applied to study you may have the option to choose which modules you take.

Planned absences (for example, holidays) that affect your ability to fully engage with or access the course will not be taken into account by the Exam Board as mitigating circumstances, should you fail to achieve the results required of you.

Bookable 1:1 sessions

If you have any questions about the course, or the offer you have received for Summer School, you can book a 1:1 session (10 minutes) to discuss with a member of the team.

To book one of these sessions, you can email the team at [email protected], or click the link sent in your Summer School invitation or Next Steps emails.

Student services

During Online Summer School, you will be considered to be like any other University of Dundee student. You will have full access to all university support services including:

  • Disability Services
  • Academic support

If you have received an invitation to Access Summer School, consider yourself to have a disability or have previously had additional support in place at school/college, it is important that any additional support you may require is in place for when you start the course. Once you have accepted your place at Summer School, we will send you a form to complete to begin this process.

Financial support

Online Access Summer School is free to attend. There are no course fees.

Online Access Summer School students are not eligible to claim a Summer School bursary.
