Combining your English and Mathematics studies gives you a very wide range of modules to study.
In English, you will explore literature from medieval times to the present day. You can study a variety of topics, including:
- Shakespeare and science fiction
- Romantic poetry and modern writing
- Victorian novels and Hollywood films
- Creative writing and visual culture
Mathematics will develop your problem-solving and logical thinking skills. You will study both pure and applied maths. This allows you to learn how mathematical theories are used in the real world. You will also gain experience with mathematical software to prepare for future careers.
This degree combines creativity and logic, helping you build a wide range of skills. You will learn to think critically, solve problems, and communicate ideas clearly. These are skills that are useful in many careers.
This is a four-year degree, with teaching from both the Mathematics and English departments. You’ll learn from expert staff in each subject, giving you a well-rounded education.
