Our Mathematics MMath (Hons) course is a four year degree with an optional fifth year. In your first year you will learn topics in pure mathematics, statistics and probability. In your final year of study you will advance to Master's level modules. You will also complete a final-year project in an advanced area.

Increased employability skills

You will learn how to use advanced statistical and mathematical software. Hence you will develop essential and sought after skills.

The skills that you develop could also be used in other fields. Mathematics degrees in general offer a wide range of career opportunities. We know that recent Dundee maths graduates now work across a range of well-paid and exciting jobs. These include: data analysts, actuaries, accountants, software developers, teachers, academic researchers, engineers.

Flexible degree pathways

If you’re unsure about a joint degree, we offer flexible degree pathways. You can join us with a joint degree. Then at the end of your first year, it would be possible for you to switch to a single honours degree in mathematics.
