Chevening Scholarship 2025/6 (the “Scholarship”)

This Key Facts Document sets out the main details of the Scholarship, as at date of publication. This document should be reviewed alongside the University of Dundee Scholarship Terms and Conditions, as those terms and conditions will provide you with additional information that apply to you in respect of the Scholarship.

Who is eligible?

Chevening is the UK Government’s global scholarship programme that offers future leaders the unique opportunity to study in the UK. These scholarships are awarded to outstanding professionals from all over the world to pursue a one-year master’s degree in any subject at any UK university.

To be eligible to apply for a Chevening Scholarship, you must:

  • Be starting your course in September 2025.
  • Hold an offer to study Postgraduate taught programme.
  • Be classified as an International Fee-paying student by the University of Dundee.
  • Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory. Please check the website for the list of eligible countries.
  • Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended.
  • Have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at the University of Dundee by the time you submit your application. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class (2:1) Honours degree in the UK.
  • Have at least two years of work experience.
  • Have received an unconditional offer from the University of Dundee by 11 July 2025.

Scholarship Information

Value: 1-year tuition fees, a monthly stipend, allowances package and travel costs

  • Scholarships are awarded on an Unconditional basis. However, this is not linked to the Course application status.
  • Scholarships cannot be awarded on a pro-rata basis.

Should an applicant wish to defer their entry to the University of Dundee, the following rule applies:

  • Deferral within the same academic year: Scholarship can also be deferred.
  • Deferral to a new academic year: Scholarship cannot be deferred.

Key Information

  1. The process of selecting Chevening Scholars takes a minimum of eight months from the application deadline to when applicants are conditionally selected for an award.
  2. Only applicants studying at Postgraduate Taught level are eligible, and applicants are eligible to receive this scholarship in Year 1 only.
  3. Changes to the programme of study:
  • If you change programme before/during matriculation or after latest start date (30.09.2025), the University of Dundee reserves the right to re-assess eligibility for scholarships and may withdraw the Scholarship Offer should your eligibility have changed.
  • If your Fee status or any other personal information changes before, during or after matriculation, the University of Dundee reserves the right to reassess eligibility for scholarships and may withdraw the Scholarship Offer should your eligibility have changed.
  1. All communication with you will be via email to your @dundee.ac.uk email address. We may also use other email addresses you have provided us with, or alternatively, we will use the online applicant portal. Types of communication may be:
  • Confirming the scholarship.
  • Informing you that you have not met the criteria to be awarded the scholarship.
  • Requesting further information.
  1. We are unable to disclose details of the scholarship to anyone other than the applicant unless consent is given to do so.
  2. The Chevening Scholarship cannot be combined with any of the University of Dundee scholarships.
  3. Should a student withdraw from programme of study, the University Fees department may be in contact regarding payment of fees and scholarship balance.
  4. All scholarship decisions are final and cannot be appealed
