Research and Innovation Contracts
The Contracts team in RIS coordinate and support entire contract transactions end-to-end.

Contracts handle between 800 and 1,000 contracts per year, providing advice and support across the University.
We coordinate entire contract transactions, both reviewing and set up new Agreements, negotiating appropriate terms, managing risk, and arranging the relevant signatures from authorised signatories.

When to contact us
- For Research Projects; to record the agreement between the partners as to exactly who is going to do what during a project
The University is usually required to put a contract in place as a condition of funding:
- To formalise the management of the Project between the collaborating parties
- To cover matters such as payment
- To protect academics, students and the University should anything go wrong
