Trusted Research Environment (TRE) support services

Level of support available to HIC TRE users

We take a continuous improvement approach to supporting our TRE Users. As an agile service, we regularly enhance functionality and user experience based on feedback and evolving research needs. These updates are communicated through our monthly newsletters to all users, and our HIC Knowledge Base (HKB), which acts as a training guide for TRE users. 

The HKB provides comprehensive guidance on key areas including data access and permissions, available software, data management, output checking, and information governance. It is designed to support users at all stages of their research journey from TRE onboarding to how to get files released for publication.

How can we help you?

You can contact us via email, and our HIC Operational Team will either respond promptly, or direct your issue to the appropriate technical team. Your email automatically generates a ‘ticket’ in our project management system, allowing you to track correspondence and progress. This email is our primary communication channel, and we encourage you share any feedback or suggestion for improvement. While we conduct an annual user survey to gather formal TRE feedback, we welcome your thoughts, experiences, and ideas at any time.
