Funding for the course is provided by the Scottish Government and Scottish local authorities.

The funding package consists of

  • £15,000 non-income assessed training grant per year
  • Tuition fees of £14,000 per year, payable to the University.

A condition of the funding package is that you make a minimum 5-year commitment.

Following completion of the three-year course you must begin, as soon as possible, and then complete:

  • a period of 24 consecutive months' work as a qualified HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registered Educational Psychologist in a local authority, or local authorities, in Scotland.

Failure to complete and pass the full programme of training and meet the required conditions will be treated as a Default of the Grant and the Trainee will be required to repay to the Scottish Ministers the full amount of Grant received.

You must have the right to work in the UK and normally be a resident in Scotland or demonstrate that you can meet grant requirements on the course commencement date and for the work commitment period to be eligible for funding.
